Dear Unknown Craig's List Advertiser,
I would like to be considered for the job you advertised as 'Project Coordinator-Web/database Development'. I have managed projects ranging from implementation of a multi-million dollar tech center, to coordination of a national client infrastructure upgrade, to creation of an internet-based business unit. My real love, though, is creating web sites and systems. I have been an internet creator since the mid-nineties and have implemented many large and small website programs. As I read your ad, I am confident that my experience makes me the ideal candidate for this job.
In particular, I am an electrical engineer with an interest in marketing and client contact. I spent several years working as the client-side project manager for a computer products company named Scitex. I was responsible for assessment of client needs, writing, presentation, & refinement of the proposal in collaboration with sales. I also supervised of the implementation process. Before that I spent several years as an engineer responsible for managing software projects at R.R. Donnelley and Sons. Both of these jobs required a sensitivity to the client (senior management in the case of RRD), very strong organization and communication skills, and a love of getting things done on time and under scrutiny.
Equally important, I am a very strong communicator with a great deal of business experience. I have managed a wide variety of project types including websites ranging from the extremely technical (eg, a DSL provisioning production control system) to the highly creative (eg, a 'social networking' website for a company that made highly-branded products for teenage girls). I have managed projects with teams that included designers, copywriters, and marketing staff. I have run nearly every kind of project and get them done, on time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client.
I am confident that these experiences will allow me to make a strong contribution to your company.
I look forward to discussing this further.
Best Regards,
TQ White II
