Dear Walgreens,
I am excited at the opportunity to apply for the job you advertised on Monster.com as 'Manager, Marketing' (Job ID #3423). I have worked the online marketing efforts for a number of companies over the last several years. I was a pioneer in affiliate marketing in the late nineties, have run search engine keyword campaigns, done online newsletters, etc. I am fascinated by the ways that the internet can be used to bring a sense of relationship with customers. These things make me confident that I will be able to make an excellent contribution to Walgreens.
My current interest is the integration of customized HTML email with personalized websites. The opportunities for clear messaging and to offer the prospect useful interactive features are powerful. The resulting relationship provides an excellent channel for additional messaging as well as the occasional chance to offer people truly useful online information and services. Adding these to the developing potential of RSS aggregation streams and even audio blogs suggest a mind-blowing set of tools to really engage the people that can benefit from Walgreens products.
Equally important, your job description suggests, is the experience I had in my last job of working with a branding agency and guiding the website development to work in the context of the brand. Though I wrote a great deal of the website copy (it was a startup company), I also supervised copywriters and website designers. I designed the website's sales and provisioning process. I started a direct sales organization and then a distributor channel.
I am also an effective analyst and project manager. My communications skills are excellent. I have a broadly varied career that includes experience in corporate budgeting and personnel management. This, combined with my experiences in the internet make me confident that I will do a great job for Walgreens' marketing organization.
I look forward to the opportunity to discuss this further.
Best Regards,
TQ White II
