I have been consulting with our mutual friend, Ugo Buy, about my job hunting efforts. Among the topics is my interest in trying to work at Orbitz. He very kindly suggested that you might be willing to talk to me and, perhaps, offer some advice.

Though I have spent much of my career as a programmer, in the last decade, I have found an interest in using the internet for various marketing purposes. Orbitz, it turns out, is doing a fair amount of hiring in areas related to this. I have, over the last month, responded to three Monster.com ads.

As I suppose that you know, when a company like Orbitz advertises on Monster.com, it gets a blizzard of resumes. It is, as a consequence, very difficult to get any attention paid to one's resume. As is typical, I have heard nothing.

That's where you come in. Orbitz is made of people, even though the Monster.com experience miight suggest otherwise. I wonder if we could talk for a few minutes with the goal of helping me understand a little better what's going on in the organization and, perhaps developing a strategy to get a hearing. I promise, I'd be a very good co-worker.

Ugo warns me that you are in development and not involved with marketing. That's ok with me. You are a lot closer to the appropriate people than I am. I am looking to you for advice, not results.
