I found your ad for a on Craig's List and would like to be considered for the job. In addition to my early career as a software engineer working for R.R. Donnelley and Sons' R&D organization, I have been developing websites since the mid-nineties, those based on PHP/mySQL since 1999. I have written content management several times, a few variations on social networking, e-commerce, etc, and am presently working on a system to register attendees for a company that conducts conventions.

A favorite was an automated production control system for retail DSL service provisioning that communicated with humans by parsing structured email messages and with vendor computers using XML. The number of steps and variety of circumstances for which it accounted was truly amazing. It literally reduced customer service hours per new customer by half.

In addition to being very strong with PHP/mySQL, I am a long-time database developer in other contexts. I am fascinated by the manipulation of databases and have written or designed many interesting applications over the years. I am compulsive about writing reusable software, am ruthlessly structured and never, ever abbreviate variable names.

in addition, I have a great deal of business experience that has allowed me to help define projects and guide their implementation to a more nearly optimal result. I have team management experience but am happy as a coder. Whatever works best is good with me.
