Dear Evanston Web Co,
I saw your ad for a PHP/MySQL Programmer on Craig's List and would like to be considered for the job.
In 1984, I hand-coded my first static website. Later, I wrote a scripting framework that automated the process of moving content from PC to website with linkage, etc. At the turn of the century, I undertook php/mySQL and started with a content-management website for an art company. Since then I have written a large number of web applications ranging from a process control system for DSL provisioning (that acted as a process control intermediary among the client, vendors and customers including early-era XML messages to the vendor process), to social networking software, to backup management, to my most recent project which includes both content management and a sophisticated online store application - including credit card processing that is not written in Cold Fusion. In addition, I am good at javascript, css, xml, and understand the world of online marketing.
Further, I am devoted to reusability. I literally have a class that I wrote at the dawn of my php experience that I still use today. My session management code has been applied and adapted a dozen times. Everything I write is general and I am constantly discovering new things that I can do with my code.
I am a comfortable team player. I like working with others, have supervised software teams and am a good writer. I am confident that I will be able to make a strong contribution to your company.
I look forward to discussing this opportunity further.
Best Regards,
TQ White II
